Dr. Samuel Breidenbach
touched many with his truly creative imagination. We feel
that he would have made even greater contributions if he had
been allowed to stay for the full measure of his life. He
would have been 67 in October, a relatively short span, but
he filled that time with more experience than any 3 people
I know. I was personally privileged to have know him since
January 5th 2009 until he was taken August 6th 2016.
His lifelong interest
in dinosaurs and paleontology led to the creation of the T-Rex
Museum. Over the years the T-Rex Museum has entertained and
enthralled hundreds of young (and older) people interested
in dinosaurs. In 2008 the T-Rex Museum was selected for the
Best of Tucson Award in the Museums category by the U.S. Local
Business Association. Later when the recession damaged so
many businesses he was forced to close the Main St. location,
but synchronicity provided a house trailer perfect to house
the collection and create the Gobi Desert Expedition Center
experience.
Samuel established
TTEV.org (Tucson Tortolita Eco Village) a website/concept
dedicated to sustainability and a repository for sustainable
building techniques. It represents a vision of living off
grid as a community of like minded people respecting the land
and each other. He formed the basis for such a community here
in Avra Valley AZ on 22 acres. His vision of creating a sustainable
technology incubator with up to 10 families is on hold for
now, but his sister knows the vision well and has invested
her own time and money to move it forward.
His interest in
sustainability induced a vision of a sustainable Tucson. He
launched the first Tucson Sustainable Fall Harvest Festival
with nothing more than an advertisement in Natural Awakenings
and word of mouth. That first year we had about 600 visitors
on Saturday and Sunday, an outstanding number given the limited
budget for advertising. The tradition lives on with Sustainable
Tucson's - Envision Tucson Sustainable Fall Festival. He was
pleased to help get it going and then turn it over to the
community so they might benefit and keep it alive.
He was one of the
first to translate the shamanic experience for the western
audience. Having an inoperable brain tumor he went to Peru
for a cure or to die. He got both and came back 7 minutes
later with the near death experience many speak of, except
he remembered the entire two week stay on the other side and
all the beings he met there and what they shared with him.
It took about a year, but he knew he had to teach others about
his amazing experience and how it could enrich their lives.
So was born Scientific Shamanism and the classes he taught
for so many of us.
Dr. Samuel made
significant contributions in the realm of dreaming and recording
his adventures there. His adventure stories are at par with
many of the brightest luminary authors of our time. His command
of detail draws the reader into the story where they want
to stay until the end.
Here are examples
of his creative genius:
This story illustrates the depth of detail he can bring back
from a dream - Ket
Kiree: Chapter One.
This story is an illustrated children's book straight from
his fertile imagination.
- Book2: The Dream
I and others have
many stories about Dr. Samuel to share. The stories above
are a small sample of what he shared with us and we are sharing
here with you.
Thank you for caring
enough to make it this far...
